Welfare Schemes Portal — A UPES Major Project
Purpose
This portal helps citizens discover Central and State government schemes of India that may be applicable to them. Users can enter their profile (state, category, gender, area) and get a ranked list of relevant schemes with summaries and links to official or reference sources.
UPES Major Project
This application has been developed as a Major Project at UPES (University of Petroleum and Energy Studies). It demonstrates the use of data aggregation, machine learning–based matching, and AI-assisted summaries to make government scheme information more accessible to the public.
How It Works
On Find Schemes, you select your State/UT, Gender, Category (e.g. Farmer, Women, General), and Area (Urban/Rural). The system filters and ranks schemes from our dataset and from the List of Schemes (sourced from Wikipedia). Scheme details are enriched with AI-generated summaries. You can then use the provided links to search or visit official portals for application and eligibility.
